Happy New 2022

What’s New in 2022?

You are. Or, at least you can be.

Literally, you are new every single day. You have new cells, new thoughts, new moments, and new opportunities. You’re never really stuck unless you want to be.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve all had our challenges, our setbacks, our heartbreaks, our frustrations, and our losses. We have lived through a couple of challenging years, for sure. But, we are still here, and now so is 2022. Will it be free of the challenges we’ve faced over the last year or so? Maybe. But regardless of the challenges 2022 brings, it also brings opportunities, the biggest of which is you. You are the opportunity 2022 is bringing with it. Especially if you embrace your own newness.

Every day you wake up, you are as new as the new day. You build new cells, you can form new thoughts, new opinions, new approaches, new reactions and even create new experiences. You are an endless possibility of newness and that’s quite fantastical when you think about it. You can change in the direction you want to go. You can choose to be new with each new day, to let go of the past, to let go of your opinions, to let go of your fears. You can foster new curiosities and new possibilities. You can allow new thoughts and opinions to form. You can even seek out new experiences in the seemingly same ole day to day routines.

And if 2022 is going to be a better year than 2019, 2020, or 2021, that’s exactly what you’re going to have to do. You are going to have to decide to be new. Whatever it is you want, decide to have it. Whoever it is you want to be, decide to be it. Then, act accordingly with each new opportunity (moment).

A year is not made good or bad by its events and circumstances. It’s made good or bad by our interpretations, responses, decisions, and perceptions. It’s made by what we hold on to and by what we let go of. How we judge, how we forgive, how we forget, and how we move forward - that’s what makes a true new year. Our decisions to be our best selves, our truest potential selves, that’s what makes a Happy New Year that lasts longer than a day.

One of the easiest approaches to deciding to be new every day is to be resolute in moving every day. It feels good to feel good, meaning when your body feels good, so does your mind and your emotions. If you can honor your body and move to keep it feeling good, you’ll likely find that you are more easily able to make better decisions, let go of disturbances, and choose to love no matter the situation. In other words, it’s easier to choose to be brand new every day when your body feels new. And you can keep your body feeling new by moving it the way it needs.

What does it need?

Breathe well.

Move often:

  • get up and down from the floor a few times each day.
  • Roll a little. Rock a little

Crawl or Walk

Smile.

Laugh.

And, for extra good measure, as you do these things, believe and marinate on who you are or what you want:

“I am strong.”

“I am brand new today.”

“I am courageous.”

“Today is a great day.”

“This too will pass.”

“I am enough.”

Whatever it is you need to hear, whatever it is you need to have and be, repeat it in your head as you breathe, smile, roll, rock, and walk. Hold on to that truth that you are reaching to experience. It’s yours. After all, you are a creator - your nervous system is designed for you to create.

All of this to say. I hope you have an amazing and wonderful 2022. May it be as amazing and wonderful as you are.

Thanks as always for all you do.
