If You Only Use the RESETs When Something Hurts… You’re Missing the Point

This past week, I was scrolling the 'Gram and came across a video of a physical therapist making a joke about how people seek help.

When you need your lawn mowed, you hire a landscaper.
When you need your haircut, you go to a salon.
When you have a toilet issue, you call the plumber.
When your electricity goes out, you get an electrician.

But when your shoulder hurts..... often you think you just slept wrong, and then 'rest it' for months, then blame getting old, then start hitting ChatGPT up in the middle of the night, then randomly buy a hail mary type brace or pills, then just say you can't do any exercising, then all the sudden you start working out like a crazy peson and then finally you are in so much pain that you get pain meds and an MRI.

...... It's a weird world we're living in, right?

We all know that a visit to a good physical therapist or... dare I say, some use of RESETs and gentle movement. It would have worked wonders much faster.

It's a fact, people feel better after Pressing RESET. Sometimes they have huge, almost life-altering a-ha moments through Resets, yet still, many times, even the most seasoned OS peeps wait until something is hurt, when there is nothing else left to do, to Press RESET.

Here is a reminder for you. And I mean this for you (yourself) and for how you support your clients and patients...

RESETs are for helping you prepare your mind and body, to refine your movement, and to expand your capacity.

RESETs aren't just for 'fixing' problems... that's just being reactive... we need to make sure we are being PROACTIVE.  We don't want to wait for dysfunction.... we want to build better function continuously.

This is the sort of stuff Tim will be bringing to the table at the upcoming Orthopedic Practitioner Spring Summit, which runs April 21–23, live on Zoom, 11:30 am–2:30 pm EST each day.  I think this proactive lens is exactly what needs to be more present in healthcare conversations, and having a deeper understanding of the nervous system and how our body responds to different stimuli/inputs (pain/stress).

>> Tim will be being interviewed on Wednesday 4/22, at 2:00pm EST.
